FAQs

Questions people ask before booking

Straight answers about our doctors, the consultation, safety and pricing. If yours isn't here, ask us on WhatsApp.

The doctors

Who are Vaidora's doctors?

Vaidora's care is led by Dr. Sachin Mundada and Dr. Meghna Mundada, both of whom hold a BAMS degree (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and have been in clinical practice for 25 years. You can read their profiles on our Doctors page.

What is a BAMS degree, and how are Ayurvedic doctors registered?

BAMS is a five-and-a-half-year degree, including a one-year internship, regulated by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). Practitioners register with their State Board of Indian Medicine and appear on the NCISM register. A BAMS doctor is not an MBBS (allopathic) doctor.

Will I talk to a real doctor or a chatbot?

A real doctor. Every consultation is a video call with a qualified Ayurvedic doctor. Before booking, you chat on WhatsApp with our care team, who handle scheduling and practical questions.

The consultation

How does an Ayurvedic doctor assess me over video?

Ayurvedic assessment relies a great deal on questioning (prashna) and observation (darshana). Over video, your doctor asks about your symptoms, digestion, sleep, stress, cycle and routine, and may ask to see your tongue, skin, eyes or scalp. Pulse reading and physical examination are not possible online — if your doctor needs them, or tests, they will tell you.

What do I get after the consultation?

A written plan on WhatsApp covering diet, daily routine and, where your doctor thinks it appropriate, herbal medicines with doses. Where a prescription is issued, it carries the doctor's name and registration number, as the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines require.

Can a doctor decline to advise me online?

Yes. If your symptoms need an in-person examination, tests or urgent care, your doctor will say so. That is a clinical decision, and if the consultation cannot go ahead properly our refund policy applies.

Safety

Can I take Ayurvedic herbs alongside my other medicines?

Sometimes, but not always — some herbs interact with medicines for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid, blood thinning and more. That is why your doctor needs the full list of what you take. Never stop a prescribed medicine without talking to the doctor who prescribed it, and tell your other doctors about any herbs you start.

Are Ayurvedic medicines safe?

Like any medicine, they can cause side effects or interactions, and quality varies between manufacturers — some products have been found to contain heavy metals. Buy only what your doctor suggests, from a licensed pharmacy or reputable manufacturer, and stop and contact a doctor if you react badly.

Is this suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for children?

Please tell us before booking. Many herbs are not suitable in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and children must be booked by a parent or guardian who attends the consultation.

Is this for emergencies?

No. For chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke or thoughts of self-harm, call 112 in India or your local emergency number.

Conditions

Can Ayurveda cure PCOS?

PCOS is a long-term condition and no one can honestly promise a cure. Our doctors help with diet, activity, sleep and stress, which affect how PCOS feels day to day, and suggest Ayurvedic care where appropriate — alongside your gynaecologist's treatment.

Can fatty liver improve?

Early fatty liver often improves with weight loss, diet changes, activity and less alcohol. Our doctors help you make and keep those changes. Progress should be checked with repeat tests arranged by your own doctor.

How long before I see results?

It depends on you and on the problem. Ayurvedic care usually works over weeks to months, and results vary between people. Your doctor will tell you what is realistic and when to review the plan.

Pricing & booking

How much does a consultation cost?

₹199 in India and from $4 (or the local equivalent) elsewhere for a 30-minute first video consultation. There are no hidden fees, and no subscription starts unless you ask for one.

Do I have to buy medicines from Vaidora?

No. Your plan names what is suggested so you can buy it wherever you prefer. Some packages for patients in India include medicines, if you'd rather not source them yourself.

What if I need to cancel?

Message us on WhatsApp. Our refund policy explains exactly when you get your money back, and if we cancel, you choose a new time or a full refund.

Can I book from outside India?

Yes, by video, in your time zone. Our doctors are registered in India, not in your country, so a consultation is Ayurvedic wellness guidance to use alongside care from a locally licensed doctor.
