How Ayurveda looks at it

Ayurveda relates slow metabolism and weight gain to weak digestive fire (Agni) and Kapha imbalance, and places a lot of weight on meal timing. Your doctor assesses your constitution and routine together.

Food matters in every Ayurvedic plan. See the kapha diet chart.

When to see a doctor in person instead

An online Ayurvedic consultation is not the right first step if you have any of these. Please see a doctor in person — or call 112 in an emergency.

  • Unexplained weight gain with tiredness, feeling cold or swelling (possible thyroid problem)
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Constant thirst and passing urine often (possible diabetes)
  • Eating that feels out of control, or making yourself sick

Common questions

Will I have to follow a strict diet or fast?

No. The focus is usually on meal timing, portion and food choices you can sustain, with activity suited to you — not starvation diets.

I have thyroid problems or PCOS. Can I still book?

Yes. Keep taking your prescribed medicine and share your reports with your Ayurvedic doctor, who will plan around your conditions.

Do you offer weight-loss pills?

No. We don't sell slimming products. Any herbal medicine is suggested by your doctor only if it suits you, after a consultation.
